Saturday 4th June Acrylic Native Inspired Workshop with Cate Maddy
Artworx 122 Ryrie Street, Geelong, VicCate Maddy revisits the still life tradition and looks at contemporary ways of negotiating the relationships between stillness and movement with her artworks. She is particularity interested in using colour to heighten emotion in a piece and suggest sumptuous luxury, referring to the gluttony and excesses of modern times, which references the Vanitas tradition. Although her process has changed over the years, colour and movement have remained her primary interest, as she aims to create an energy and flow in her composition and brushwork.
